- What is theclubnetwork?
Theclubnetwork was created to connect private sports clubs so that their members might play at other registered clubs around the country!
How do we do this? First your club registers its details with us, then we send them a flyer informing their members that the club has become a member of theclubnetwork and that their members are now entitled to register with us. When registered their playing standard and name are listed on theclubnetwork webiste (with their approval) where visiting members can select the best opponent to play and email them directly. No emails or any other personal details are shown to any theclubnetwork members at any time.
- Why theclubnetwork?
Theclubnetwork offers a unique service to both clubs and its members. With a secure and simple to use site, it allows members to book courts and arrange games against similar standard opponents, at any other registered club in the UK. We believe in offering the best services to our members, so that they can enjoy playing their sport.
Clubs can: increase revenue, through bar, restaurant and shops sales; attract new members through greater advertising and additional services offered to members; and utilise sports facilities, whilst retaining your clubs unique identity. All this with one simple, affordable registration, and with very little administration. Let us do the hard work for you?
- Do I qualify?
Providing you are a member of a theclubnetwork registered sports club, then you can register. You will be able to find this information via your clubs notice board, or you can speak to your club's representative.
- Does my club qualify?
We will accept any club providing you have sports facilities for tennis, squash/racketball, badminton, bowls, golf, table tennis, gym and swimming. Any size of club can apply.
- How can my club join?
If you are a club trying to register, then follow this link and follow the on screen instructions.
- How can I join?
If you are an individual member wanting to register, then your club has to be registered with us first. If they are already registered then the club name will appear on the list when you start your registration. If not then you will need to speak to someone in your club's administration office, and make them aware of the potential benefits that theclubnetwork could give them.
- How many times can I visit a particular club?
Clubs can vary the number of times a member can play at that club. However the minimum amount is 5 visits to any one particular club in a year. A list of this information is located in the member control panel under "Search Clubs".
- Which sports qualify?
Theclubnetwork covers:
- tennis
- squash
- badminton
- racketball
- golf
- bowls
- swimming
- gym
- table tennis
- What payment methods do you accept?
There are many options for payment. For individual members we accept most major credit and debit cards. For clubs a "pay by post" has been set up at the end of the registration process. If you prefer to pay by card then on the 'payment details' page click the "Pay By Secure WorldPay Server" button, or if you would like to pay via a cheque, click the "pay by post" button. Unfortunately we cannot accept BACs payment at present for individual members. However we can make an exception for clubs wishing to register. Please contact us on (0208) 816 816 1 to speak to an advisor, or email us here.
- What happens once I register as a member?
After registration is complete and payment has been received a welcome letter and membership card will be sent through to you. In the mean time your club must confirm that you are a member of that club. You may still login to your account and use the facilities for upto two weeks, this is to give your club time to confirm your status. If they have not done so by the end of the two weeks access will be denied to the member control panel. If this happens please contact your club at once and ask them to verify you immediately. Once confirmed you will be able to use your account until the end of your membership period.
- What happens once my club is registered?
A welcome letter and flyer will be sent to your club. Please post this flyer in prominent position so that as many members as possible can benefit.
- I cannot login?
If you are having trouble logging in, firstly, make sure you haven't got the caps lock on. If not then please click this link to send the password to your email address. If you still cannot logon please ensure that your club has confirmed your membership, an email will be sent to you automatically upon confirmation, if you have not received this email then after two weeks please contact your club. If this still doesn't work click on the link and send us a note, and we'll sort it out as soon as possible.
- Why can I not play tennis even though my club is a tennis club?
You may find that even though you are a member of a tennis and squash club, your entitlement is only squash. This maybe due to your club's restriction to visiting members, either because tennis is oversubscribed, or there is maintenance work being carried out on those sports facilities. This is usually a temporary measure. However if you feel that this is not correct then please contact your clubs administrator.
- What is the club register?
A club register is maintained by individual clubs to ensure that members do not visit clubs more than their allocated amount.
- I'm a member of a sports club, how can I get my club to join?
If you are interested in becoming a member of theclubnetwork and your club isn't registered, you will need to speak to your club's representative. If you pass on our information to them, then we would be happy to speak to them on your behalf. Alternatively in your AGM you could always propose a notion to join theclubnetwork.
- Can my club restrict access to sports for visiting members?
Yes, in your "Club control panel" there is a facilitiy that can block visiting members from playing a particular sport at your club. Please note that if you restrict visiting members playing at your club, it automatically restricts your members from playing that particular sport at other clubs. An automatic email is sent to your registered members to inform them of your decision, but it would also be prudent for you to contact them through your normal lines of communication.
- My club has paid by post why can we not login?
There maybe a number of reasons, one of them could be that access can only be granted upon receipt of payment. Please allow 7-10 days for card payments and 10-14 days for cheques in order to process your payment. You will be notified via email immediately when payment is processed and you can login.
- My club started to register but now I cannot start again?
When you initially register your email address and you don't go through to the final payment page, you will not be able to start again using the same email address. If this happens then go to the "Renew Membership" icon at the top of the screen and put that email address and password in. Pay via the usual channels. Once payment has been received login to your account and input all your contact details and facilities. If you do not do this then you will not receive your flyer and welcome letter, even though you have registered!
- I started registering but now I cannot put my email address in again?
When you initially register your email address and you don't go through to the final payment page, you will not be able to start again using the same email address. If this happens then go to the "Renew Membership" icon at the top of the screen and put that email address and password in. Pay via the usual channels. Once payment has been received login to your account and input all your contact details and playing standard. If you do not do this then you will not receive your membership card, even though you have paid!
- Does my club pay per sport when it registers?
No, registration is free for initial membership for clubs, and after that clubs only pay per club, no matter how many main sports you have available!
- What happens to my personal details when I register?
No personal information is made available to any other theclubnetwork members at any time, except your playing standard and name and only with your approval. Our data base is covered by our Privacy Policy and is in lines with the Data Protection Act 1998. From time to time we may send you updates to the website and a newsletter that will keep you informed of developments, but members can opt out of this at any time by logging into their account.
- How much can I charge for booking and lights?
Clubs may charge what they like to cover their costs for booking and lights fees. This might include an administration charge for booking. However it may be worth noting that the higher the fee the less likely you are to attract members to your club, and this may have an effect on other benefits theclubnetwork offers your club. Alternatively if you put the costs to low, the you may be inundated with visiting members, if this is the case then just reduce the amount of time a visiting member may play at your club by going to your club control panel.
- Can our club restrict members coming to our club?
Yes, clubs can restrict visiting members coming to their club using the online system.
- Our club has an online booking system, how would this work with theclubnetwork?
Members visiting your club could book through your administration office during office hours, should you have one. If not then visiting members can select players from your club to play against (who are of a similar standard and who have signed up to theclubnetwork) and ask them to book for them, this isn't too dissimilar to many clubs standard guest rule. Or alternatively clubs could designate an individual who would book for visiting members, a few clubs already do this on the website. For further information on this please contact theclubnetwork.
